The AWGA is a 501(c)(3) public charity

Volunteering for Adult Player Development

AWGA "Ambassadors" provide support, encouragement, and education to Golf 101/201 participants. Golf 101 and 201 sessions are conducted over six classes - each 1 to 1 1/2 hours in length - over several weeks. An Ambassador needs to be present at each class and:

  • Assist the Site Leader
  • Help teach and demonstrate etiquette, rules, and other golf information to participants
  • Explain the benefits of belonging to AWGA, of belonging to a local women's golf club, and encourage them to join

If you are enthusiastic about golf and the AWGA, have good communication skills, are friendly, and outgoing, and especially if you've had mentoring experience, then becoming an Ambassador may be right for you.

If you have been an Ambassador and are ready for the next step, you could become a Site Leader. Site Leaders are responsible for recruiting and overseeing Ambassadors at a particular location where Golf 101/201 sessions are conducted. They

  • Meet with the teaching professional regularly
  • Recruit, train, and schedule Ambassadors
  • Distribute materials
  • Assist and manage activities during sessions
  • Give feedback and information to the AWGA staff
